Smallholder households produce roughly 70–80% of Kenya’s food, yet farm without soil data, pest detection, or affordable mechanized spraying. Precision agriculture — and the AI built on top of it — was designed for thousand-acre estates, trained on data from farms that look nothing like the two-hectare plots that feed this continent.
Growing Africa closes that gap. Our drones capture multispectral imagery of smallholder farms; our soil lab grades what’s beneath them. That data feeds our crop intelligence platform, which turns raw imagery into decisions a farmer can act on: where to spray, what to fertilize, which block is under stress before the eye can see it.
Every acre we map makes the system smarter. We are building one of the largest ground-truth datasets on African smallholder agriculture — imagery and soil chemistry paired with real interventions and the yield outcomes that follow — the foundation for AI that actually works on African farms, operated by rural youth we train and license as professional drone pilots.
